Parkland Search and Rescue Society is a non-profit, charitable organization providing trained volunteers to the RCMP, Edmonton Police Service and other law-enforcement agencies. Although its members are trained for missing person searches, the society helps the RCMP in evidence searches and has been called upon by Disaster Services to provide logistical and tactical support during emergencies.

All members provide their own basic equipment. They must be fully equiped to survive under austere conditions, without notice, for a minimum of 24 hours. In addition they must be able to provide medical and moral support for the subjects of the search.
|

The members receive no compensation for their expenses or time spent searching. Parkland SAR does, however, provide training and group equipment whenever possible to the members at no cost.

The only way we are able to provide the necessary training and required equipment is through the generosity of civic minded corporations, organizations, and individuals.
